Eligibility Criteria:
- Admission to the Department of Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication is open to both men and women who meet the eligibility criteria in accordance with the academic qualifications listed below:
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent (following the 10+2+3 year system) in any discipline with a minimum of 45% marks from a recognized university (40% for SC/ST students).
- Candidates appearing in the final year examination of the Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply, subject to the qualifications listed above. Admission to all the above courses shall be governed by the rules and regulations framed by the Sambad School of Media and Culture (SSoMaC).
- Selection for MA (JMC) shall be based on performance in the entrance test and career marking.
- A student with a criminal record or unsatisfactory conduct will not be considered for admission.
- Reservations and Concessions: Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes: 20% of the seats are reserved, with 12% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes and 8% for Scheduled Castes. For consideration under these reserved categories, a necessary certificate, issued only by a Revenue Officer of the locality not below the rank of a Tahsildar, must be submitted.
Fee Structure:
Part 1 – Course Fees: Semester 1 & Semester 2 – Rs. 50,000 (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only)
Part 2 – Course Fees: Semester 3 & Semester 4 – Rs. 50,000 (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only)
All fees are payable at the time of admission. Students are also required to pay additional fees, such as registration fees and examination fees, as required by the University.

Procedure for Admission
- Admission to all the above courses shall be governed by the rules and regulations framed by the SSoMaC.
- Selection into MA(JMC) shall be on the basis of performance in the entrance test and career marking.
- A student who has criminal antecedents and whose conduct is not satisfactory shall not be considered for admission.
